Aus der gestrigen

FT:
Sebastian Kurz, Austrian chancellor, addresses the European Parliament yesterday after warning he would impose new border controls if Berlin follows through with tough newmigration rules.
Germany’s warring coalition agreed to a plan this week to create “transit centres” along its southern border to receive asylum seekers who have already been registered in other EU countries.
They could then be sent directly to the countries responsible for them.
“If this agreement becomes the position of the German government, we will be prompted to take action to prevent disadvantages for Austria and its population,” said Mr Kurz and two far-right members of his cabinet in a statement.
EU leaders fear the German deal, agreed to prevent a coalition split, could cause a domino effect undermining Europe’s Schengen zone, its passportfree travelarea.
Und auf Seite 3 geht es so weiter:
… Vienna said Germany appeared to be taking “national measures” to fight the migrant influx. “If this agreement becomes the position of the German government, we will be prompted to take action to prevent disadvantages for Austria and its population,” said Sebastian Kurz, the Austrian chancellor, and two far-right members of his cabinet in ajoint statement. That raised the prospect of Vienna restricting access to migrants entering via the Brenner Pass on the Austria-Italy border. Austria has repeatedly warned that it would match any unilateral German measures. The statement said Vienna was seeking a “rapid clarification of theGerman position”.
